Solo Motorsports stock length LCA's will soon be a thing!!!!

Hey guys. I'm pleased to announce that Solo Motorsports will soon be producing stock length boxed LCA's for our trucks! They are currently in the design phase and they are trying to do a bit of market research so they have a few questions for you guys:

1) Would you run air bumps with these arms?
2) Would you run bypasses with these arms?
3) What other features would you like to see in these arms? (i.e. limit strap tabs, dual shock capabilities)

I will post pictures of their CAD model as soon as they have the design finalized.

*Adding mounts for limit straps is easy, and they should be able to incorporate those on anything they made with zero issues.
*Adding pre-drilled holes for factory style bump stops wold be good.

These would be fully compatible with our stock spindles. They will bolt right into our stock LBJ's. I will, however, soon be developing a uniball bolt-in replacement for our notoriously weak LBJ's so stay tuned for that!

Move the LBJ forward for caster/firewall clearance with 35s. We've needed a stock arm with a repositioned LBJ for some time around here.

I agree. I am currently running 35's with Camburg UCA's and stock LCA's and when I get it aligned, they have to trade off camber for caster and end up under the stock camber specs. I think a little more caster built into the arm would definitely help.

Caster correction built into the lower arms would be wonderful. You run into sheetmetal either way, so it's a balance between firewall and aprons/core support/bumper. Optimal alignment is priority here. I know we can get good alignment with SPC arms being able to suck the UBJ in, but "shortening" the UCA definitely isn't ideal.
If I were buying a boxed replacement LCA, I would probably go for a wider track width, but the same alignment issues would apply, I assume. I'm not sure if/how the LT arms correct the alignment, but if it's by using the UCA to pull the UBJ rearward, I wouldn't be interested. I already have to tub my firewall, so moving it closer would be no bueno.
SOLO makes beautiful products, and I would love to have their arms on my rig.

I think if you pushed the LBJ forward the equivalent amount that SPC-style arms move the UBJ rearward in their base position (I don't recall what this is off of the top of my head), that would be optimal.

I believe they already sell stock length UCA's (boxed and tubular) that correct the caster on lifted trucks by moving the UBJ rearward. I suggested to Carl at Solo that they make the LCA's with additional caster correction by moving the LBJ forward. But I don't think it would be enough to fix the caster by itself (i.e. with a stock UCA). But I can't imagine very many people would be running these LCA's without also running aftermarket UCA's anyway.

I can't give any pricing info yet, but I can tell you that the pricing will be very comparable to TC or Camburg stock length boxed LCA's for 2nd gen Tacoma's.

Yeah, I've been looking into this for the last hour or so. I also saw the one Z-4Runner made. I might end up just making my own if for no other reason than to save some money. I like the ebay one, but I feel like the uniball could be bigger.

I don't work for Solo. I am just coordinating with them on getting the ball rolling for some stock length LCA's.
As far as the uniball LBJ replacements, I haven't brought it up to Solo mainly because they already make their own custom spindles for toyota trucks and lower uniball assemblies that bolt into them. I just installed spindle gussets on my truck and I'm not down to spend $1500 on a set of spindles lol. Besides, I just don't think they're worth it on anything less than LT. If anything, I might just make a pair of bolt on uniball replacements for myself and see if there's any interest in them. But I would first want to do legitimate product testing and strength comparisons with the stock ball joints. And the uniballs would mimic factory positioning. I would want the pivot point to be in the exact same location as the factory ball joints so as not to change the geometry of the suspension. As far as moving the LBJ forward, that would be done by the shape of the LCA itself. But that's just on the stock length LCA. I don't know if anyone (including Solo) makes a LT kit that moves the front wheel forward with the LCA.

Dunno if it's too much work, but would it be possible to incorporate the design of the 4th/5th gen 4Runner LBJ design so that the failure issue with the stock 3rd gen 4Runner LBJ is eliminated?

I agree! I'd be much more interested in long travel if it didn't mean that i had to get fiberglass fenders and still have my tires sticking way outside of the fenders

I would be interested. I'd like to see them improve ground clearance over stock arms.

I too would be extremely interested in a +2 kit. I have been eyeing the Solo kits for a couple months now.
