Some Tire Advice - Diameter!

I have a 2003 SR5 with stock 16" wheels, yes the 16-inchers.

I like a wheel with a lot of diameter versus width. I'm in the market for tires, but cannot decide between 265/75r16, 285/75r16 and 255/85r16. I want the height that the 285s and especially the 255s offer, but I don't want to trim the hell out of my truck. I currently have 265/75s and they just seem a bit small, considering they have worn down over time.

My question is - I know that tire diameters vary a bit, which is the largest 265/75 on the market, and also, would I be able to handle the other two types on my rig without major trimming? I do run spidertrax and a FJ/Bilstein lift that nets me around 3+" in the front and plenty of room in the back.

Thanks

If you haven't tried this, a site called RimsNTires has a great tool to automatically calculate the effects of trying different wheel/tire packages as compared to your stock size.
Note also playing with backspace/offset can push the wheel out a ways giving the illusion it is larger.... hope this helps.

Second link in my sig. 285 and 255 will rub on the fender liner front and rear if you're running spacers. Little trimming will be required.
