Parked my truck in a garage and when I came out noticed red paint mark on my silver 4runner. Looks like the car next to me hit it with there door. Does not look like it dent it but I want to get rid of the red paint mark. I was going to head to auto store tomorrow to get something get it out. What is the best product to use?

You think thats bad? I came out christmas morning to find a massive dent in my left rear quarter panel. Merry Christmas, right? Gotta love full coverage...
Anyway, alot of body shops use whats called an eraser wheel. Works really well at getting rid of paint transfers and scuffs. Dunno if theres anything commercially available that would work as well though.

It sounds odd, but in the past I've removed some light paint transfers with just a regular eraser (new of course). Then just a good wash and wax.
Dude- I HAVE to hear how you decided to try erasing paint with a pencil eraser! that sounds hilarious...

just get scratch-X by meguiars and a wax to put on the area afterward.
Good thing is that if it's red on there, it's just their paint on top of yours. I normally use Meguiard 205 for a mile polish with my buffer and 105 for the heavy buffing. The scratch-X is great stuff and very gritty so you can use it by hand just as well. Just apply with an old T-shirt (one without writing on it) and remove tags first.

I used to use Rubbing compound, but it was too harsh on the black paint. Now i use Scratch X and it wooks great. Same thing happned to me last year. This guy left a big red mark on my lower door panel. I thanked the guy by adjusting his side mirrors. (He had an older car with no power mirrors) That will teach him.
