Son of a hood!

Screwed the pooch on my faded hood today; bedliner roll on (DupliColor) :violin:

It's actually not that bad, problem is the thickness varies making it look splotchy.
I don't mind the texture, but I want it to be one color....the sheen on it is very uneven.

I'm thinking of Rustoleum flat black enamel over the entire hood. In theory that should cover all texture with one flat black color.

Thoughts?

Can't you paint over the bed liner? Rattle-can it.

Flat paint from a spray can is tough to get even as well. What ever made you want to roll bedliner on the hood?

I have found that Ace hardware spray paint has a nice spray pattern and is very forgiving. Makes it pretty easy to get good coverage. I used it when I camouflaged my old Ford truck and it looked great (IMO). The black is Wal-Mart spray paint. It looks like crap. The brown is Ace hardware.

You might want to try SEM trim black to spray over the texture. I use it on plastics parts and it works well. Not dead flat, but not shiny at all.

I've had nothing but good things to say about SEM Trim black in the past.

Just used SEM Trim Black on my heavily faded fender flares. Turned out great.
