Sorry but I've got some questions...

Hi to all, I'm sorry but I'm new to the yota field. I just purchased a 1991 4runner today for $1300 with sas front, trail gear crossover steering and 5" springs and chevy 63's in the rear with 5.29's in both. It has the 3.0 in it and a 5 speed. I have a few questions... A. Did I get ripped off and B. what do I need to change/check before I start to play with this thing? Common issues and what not. Thanks in advance... Oh and what gen is this thing so I can post In the right forum?

2nd gen or classic , about all I can tell ya . But there's a ton a good guys down there so search it ! Will get help right away

A 91 4Runner is a 2nd gen 4Runner.
The Classics section here covers 1st and 2nd gen Runners.
Check it out and start looking around, you can find a lot of info by searching.
The 3.0 is known to have problems with Head Gaskets, other than that these trucks are pretty bullet proof.
$1300 sounds like a good deal to me.

1300 is a damn good deal for one that has been sas'd etc depending on the condition of it and how much the previous owner dogged it. that's the problem with buying a modified vehicle. it was modified for a reason and is now being sold for a reason.

Appreciate the info. I bought it from a buddy who decided he wanted a rzr instead... Is there a way to tighten the shifter linkage, bushings ect? Or is a rebuild in the making?

You talking about the main gear shift? There is bushing kits pretty cheap you can get. Marlin crawler sells them for sure, but I'm sure you can find them other places as well.
