Sorry to beat a dead topic, led interior question

yeah the camera makes it look that way, their not that bad at all. I forget to say that i broke my climate control module by pulling on the light from the front. Not a good idea, make sure you take the whole thing out or you will have a missing light like i did. So yeah i went to Pep Boys and picked up one of the LED set ups that have 3 individual lights and i basically rigged them into the climate control (the red's in pic)

for the key ring i got this one (5th one down) and the gauges are the 10th one down and they worked for me

and i cant even find the neo wedges or the climate control lights. buy yeah the 74's fit right inside the little module the other bulbs are in for the guages

its funny how many times this comes up and its always mixed up Foshizzy knows all about these maybe he'll chime in. i think i found my info on the other 4runner forum i'm drawing a blank of what its called

Cool, so you used the 3 bulb LEDs on the gauges? I think those will probably look best.
 
Just did this mod, and was semi successful. The bulbs I ordered for the ECT/ RR window and defroster, as well as the two larger bulbs in the digital climate control, were incorrect. Got all my bulbs from V-LEDS, they got here in a couple days and were packaged nicely. Happy with the product and website; this is just a case of a mistake on my part.

Was able to do the gauges, ashtray, the bottom half of the climate control, and the glove box. Also put LED's in my corner lights (amber) and rear license plate lights (6k white). Frustrated to some extent (since I have to rip everything apart again in the near future) but I'm sure it will be an improvement over my previous green/off white/blue light color scheme I had going on before. By the time I get this finished it'll be just blue/white on the inside. I just need to figure out EXACTLY which four bulbs I need to complete the center console lights, plus one more #74 for the key ring.

PS Thanks bootown for that list, I was able to figure out most of it... Do you have a picture of what you ordered? I am so damn confused by the multiple listings of what bulbs I actually need.
 
anyone have any idea what the bulbs would be for a 1997 SR5? I know for a fact
my glove compartment and the light behind the ac controls takes takes 2723 (pepboys) or 74.

The shifter bulb is a 194
but what are the ones behind the dash?
And also I know the ac button and etc take a cluster type but I don't know the exact size/ or where to get it from. Can anyone provide me with info and also where to buy them. I've been using v-led's a lot great products.

which bulbs should i buy with the 3x lighting? And which with regular lighting? (so i dont have hotspots)
 
I don't think you can avoid the hot spots with LED's however; I heard someone say that they stuck some wax paper over the bulbs and that eliminated the hot spots??

there is a way..u just have to buy the bulbs that are 3 way or 5 way "shiners" meaning they project the light in 3 directions rather than just 1
 
Hi guys, thinking about doing this in my 99 Limited w/ electronic climate control. Can anyone tell me if I need #74 bulbs and if so how many for the climate control?

Also, can the light behind the clock be changed out (and what bulb)?
 
i actually put smt led's i think they were called behind the cluster, and there is a little bit of hot spot action, but nothing crazy, its all lit up no problems.

and you can always look for the led's with the plastic tops to it, so you can sand down the little plastic bulb looking things on top to diffuse the light better.
 
Well... i think they lasted over a year but some of mine bulbs i got from autolumination have finally crapped out. It's crazy they all went to together. Last night it was just my buttons tonight my climate control went out. (well it flickers so i look like iv'e got Christmas lights inside Now i gotta remember what i got last time. craaap! sounds like i should try V-LED'S?
 
hmmm i starting to think that i really hate PERFORMING the LED mod. I love how they look but it sucks doing it! i just got my new ones in. BTW the Purple or "black light" looks pretty slick but the white ones i got for the neo wedges were kind of like a dull white. and look kind of crappy IMO. i tried superbrightled's.com this time it think i just got the wrong shade of white or something. i didn't know there was such a thing... Im gonna order another batch from V-LED's has anyone had any problems with the white ones from there?

mine from v-leds are still running strong, but they arent that bright. i think its just the type of bulb i have. but their stuff is great quality

i sand all of the leds that i use with at least 180 or heavier it diffuses and reflects the light i've installed them in side lit etched plexi with great success
 
Thats wierd, I found the #24's on superbrightLED's.com i haven't installed them yet cause mine from autolumination are still good. but after seing those neo wedges im a little sketchy now. I had no clue LED's could be diferent shades of white. so pissssed :dammit: I looked at the site too and it looks like they only offered one white for the neo wedges.
anyway with your NEO wedges you bought from V-LED's... you say there not as bright, do they still look like a clean white?? or is it a warm white? (yelowish)
