Sound Deadening Tutorial?

Anyone interested in this?
I completely stripped the interior of my 4runner (sans the dash and headliner), and installed RAAMmat BXT II (sound deadening) and their Ensolite (closed-cell foam for a quiter cabin) to the entire vehicle. Plus a layer of MLV (mass loaded vinyl) to the floor.
----

Wow, that's alot of material. For the sound deadening (reduce resonance of the metal), did you completely cover everything? I saw in many audio threads you only have to cover 30% of the area. As far as the foam and vinyl, yes, 100% coverage is needed. The only drawback I saw is that all of this material weights A TON! For something like a 07 Civic, it weight it down about 100-120lbs. Yikes. Anyway, have you seen a noticeable drop in MPGs?

When I did mine, I calculated the weight and it was about 300 lbs that I added. And I still get around 20 mpg. No drop off at all.

Oh man, this stuff definitely didn't weigh 300 lbs.
Looking at the shipping weight of the product, with the MLV included, I'd say I only put in about 75-100lbs. No difference in MPG whatsoever.

In my tutorial, I'll mention how much coverage of material I used for each section. Some places only needed a piece or too, others (like the doors) I covered 100%. Both inner and outer shell.
Front floor, and even rear seat floor, already has sound deadening material from the factory. Didn't put any there, except for areas that were resonate, and didn't have any dampening (tranny tunnel).

FYI - the Ensolite closed-cell foam is seriously feather light. Don't skimp and not install that as well! This is the stuff the blocks road noise.
