Can anybody that received the rack give advice about their order tracker? I'm ordered over 4 weeks ago and literally the next day the status went to "Materials Ordered" and hasn't changed since. From the Average Days on the tracker, I should be in preliminary QC. I'm 4 1/2 weeks away from a camping trip that I would like to use the rack for, but ~8 weeks away from a trip that I really need it for. Starting to kick myself for waiting too long to order the rack

Anyone done any type of Rtt quick release on this rack? Either DIY or frontrunner?
Ordered mine a few weeks ago and just want to prepare everything to get it geared up when it comes in. I read the frontrunner release only works on their own racks. Not sure if anyone has used any other methods, as i just dont want to leave the tent on at all times.

I just remove the 12 screws from the two bars the tent is bolted to and keep them mated to the tent. Its pretty much a PITA to get to the tents brackets. The rack is low profile/ close to the roof.
Thanks. I did think about that but it does not seem like a "simple" task to do this every other weekend. if I cannot figure out any other solution this may be the easiest method though.
does it cause wear on your side rails? I figure doing this so often would wear down the finish on those bar areas as well.

Minor wear so far. Do you have a lift to pick the tent straight up? Im almost positive the front runner QR mounts require a straight on mounting approach. No sliding in from the sides. I have no doubt that you could surely find a way to adapt their mounts to the SSO rack if you have the proper lift.
I was going to buy one of those ceiling hoists off amazon. it looks like a lot of jeep guys use that method. I would not have anyone capable of helping me lift the tent on and off so there is no other option for me.

Take careful measurements. With tent mounted I cannot get in a standard garage door. Close but no cigar.
Definitely, I would have to factor in the quick release height if so. I have an 8' garage door, so it has a few inches to spare when I estimated tent/rack height but I havent factors in any raised height from the releases.
Definitely appreciate your info and advice. I may just do as you do and leave the bars attached.

8 foot door here too and 3” lift. I manhandle it on and off and store it on a furniture dolly.

Got mine delivered a few weeks ago and finally got the time to install it with a friend.......low and behold missing nearly every part to put it together. No mounting tabs, no front fairing piece to connect it, no light bar mounts no anything. I can attach the side rails with the cross bars. That’s it. Can’t even mount it. So disappointed at this point.

I was able to get in the garage with RTT on top only by loading up the 4Runner and airing down the tires. Got it into the garage but this would not be practical to do daily. Other days, just had to keep it parked outside of my garage.

Guys thinking about pulling the trigger on this rack, ive been going throu3this thread and have seen some negative views... the ones that have gone through have you been reimbursed or at least resolved your problems?

I know they’ll resolve my issue but it’s still extremely annoying after waiting 10+ weeks for a roof rack. I called this morning about missing 90% of my hardware and received an email 6 hours later saying they’ll talk to the shipping manager. So today was wasted, they’re closed all weekend so now I’m into Monday before they’ll even look at it. I shouldn’t have to wait 4 days for standard mounting hardware to even be discussed and not even shipped out.
I understand accidents happen but there’s a lack of communication and zero urgency and now having to wait longer that makes it very frustrating.
To be honest, I expect more from a forum vendor and for a roof rack that costs $1700 and that I waited almost three months to get. I would have hoped for a lot more urgency on the matter seeing as how it’s standard hardware that is shipped with every rack and I can’t even put it together. It’s not like I’m trying to scam extra pieces. I can’t even assemble it let alone mount it to the roof.
The rack looks great and everything is very well made I will say that. Can’t comment much more since I can’t do anything with it yet.

Thanks man, i know the feeling. Its your hard earned money sucks theres only a hand full of companies that make these things and we're at their mercy...
Hopefully they expedite your shipping.
