I apologize if I missed this in my searches but it seems as though everyone that has 285-70-17 tires is running spacers. I currently have the daystar 2.5/1.5 if I remember right. I am going to order a bigger lift to 3" and also spacers but If I get the tires put on first is it just not gonna work? No wheelin, just work and back will I still rub the UCA and body mount badly or should I be ok. The tires I am looking at are the Goodyear Silent Armors. Discount is having a deal this weekend with no tax and wanted to jump on the savings. Currently the truck has 255/75/17 Goodyear Silent Armor. Is the bigger size gonna be noticeably bigger to warrent all the hassle? I would like to be closer to a true 33" Thanks in advance.

You may need to cut the fenders or mud flaps off to fit those size tires, since it seems to rub on the UCAs already. You may want to consider aftermarket wheel spacers or wheels to offset so they don't rub. If you check the top of this page, there's a sticky for suspension/tires/wheel combos for what will/won't fit with certain things.

no stacking spacers. Basically my question is if I go get the 285/70/17 put on the stock wheels without wheel spacers or 3 inch lift (only 2.5 right now) will I be ok for a week.

maybe but you will have a significant ammount of rubbing, it will not be safe.

I think some people are mixing-up suspension spacers with wheel spacers

I'm in the same boat as you on going bigger. I too have the Daystar lift and 255/75/17, but they the BFG MTs. I've been considering Firestone Destinations in the 285 size for a few months. From what I've read over the past few years is that you'll need to get wheel spacers in addition to the tires to avoid body mount/ UCA rubbing. as for enough lift, i believe you may be okay without having to go to a true 3" lift...if I'm wrong and this becomes a problem you could always to a BL which would be a lot cheaper then switching out your suspension. Just throwing that out there since my RB body lift just came in the mail yesterday

Wheel spacers are only used to prevent rubbing on the uca. I believe they will actually cause more rubbing on the body mount.

Thanks for the input, I will wait beforing putting the new tires on. I will get a BL in the future also but right now I have 111111 miles on the truck (hit that mileage this morning) so I really need new shocks so I might as well go that route first. Just keep going back and forth right now between toytec ultimate and OW

I orderd some Hankook Dynapro 285/70/17 tires with MB Wheel TKO I believe they are 3.5 backspacing and +25 offset. Discount is gonna hold them for me until I get the lift put on. Now I gotta order a lift.

Speedohealer works great. I first used one for my motorcycle and now in the runner.

The new Speedohealer is even easier to set compared to the old dip switch version.

Has 2 memory slots so you could have 2 different Tire sizes stored.

I highly recommend it.

Are there different versions of the Speedohealer for different vehicles? There's a bunch listed on Amazon, but they seem to be for specific makes (Honda, Kawasaki, etc). I think someone mentioned a universal harness, but is that universal with all Speedohealer models too?
