Spam - Please read

Alright, all you whiners.


I just banned 252 spam accounts made in the last day. They're being made at a constant rate.


We have sent information about this to admin, who as you all know, has all control over this forum.

and hours later I deleted posts by, and banned another ~150.

Holes are bursting through the dam, and the Admins are handing out mops to the Moderators.

I have never seen spam attacks go on for an extended period like what this forum is experiencing

My personal total for user ban count for the last 24 hours is now 387.



I'm keeping a close eye on new accounts being made and deleting them as they are made.


Regarding the obvious - we are using the tools given to us by admin to help keep this place usable. Advice has always been appreciated, though the great majority of it is preaching to the choir, as we've tried to years to get admin to give us the necessary privileges to maintain the site in his consistent absentia.



This is the best we can offer until the owner of the site, [MENTION=5653]admin[/MENTION], comes out from whatever rock and helps us.



Please keep any unnecessary whines/complaints to a minimum. We're well aware of the problem and are doing whatever we can to fix it.

My apologies to the mods for reporting the last 48 hrs. I just read through the thread. Sounds like [MENTION=5653]admin[/MENTION] completely incompetent. Is this like a single person or something? Or is it some 3rd party that doesn't even 4runner anything? I don't get wtf the holdup is.

In the mean time I gonna get some painkillers from some guy in the comments. He said they ship from canada! What could go wrong?!

I can probably write a script to purge those users programatically for someone with forum mod rights if anyone is interested...sort of a hack job to an issue that should be fixed in other ways though.

Came on the forum last night and there was more spam than legitimate posts. Pretty much every thread I read ended with spam! I'm on several car and motorcycle forums and NONE have this problem. Really frustrating.

Wait so let me get this straight. People can make accounts, as many as they want, and the mod or owner doesn't have to approve them? That's just insane. EVERY SINGLE account should be reviewed BEFORE it becomes active. I mean even BS facebook does that and quite a few facebook pages require the same. I'm with others on the leaving this page though. It used to be great, now I waste more time looking through spam than anything else. There are plenty of other pages out there and NONE of them have this issue. I won't be here much longer if it doesn't stop and I know i'm not the only one that feels this way. It sucks but just not worth my time anymore.
