It's gone to hell.
This site needs to be run like KTMtalk. Yes, it's rigid, but it's effective.
If it costs users some $ to have a clean forum then so be it. Way better than dealing with all this spam.
I totally agree.
The amount of people that cry about the 20 post minimum for threads, geesuz could you imagine if it were more strict :lmao:
Wouldn't need a minimum post value if the vetting platform here was the same as KTMTalk. Thats the point.
Join https://www.4runners.com/ I've been there as long as I've been here. Much slower than here but we can change that. They have NEVER had this issue since I've been a member, I have never seen a single spam post there either. My user name is the same there as here.
Oh I get it: my point was imagine if they had to do something more than enter an email and a password to get an account... pitchforks and torches...
Well... time to close the account. Doesn’t seem like there’s anything we can do. No request for money or shirt sales to keep the forum clean. The delegated admins can’t keep up nor should they. Reading between the lines points to the top dog admin not caring and there is nothing we can do about that other than leave. Let the ad revenue go to zero and the restart with operators that care.
***edit
I’m going to run ad blockers now and not feel guilty about it here. No whitelist for you!
You barely broke 300 posts and already have given up. Your good-bye statements reads as if it is obvious you'll be missed.
Did you offer to be a mod? You know it is an unpaid job here on forum. These folks are volunteers.
Who knows, but this forum is going to shit because of it.
I went ahead and joined over there. Same name and avatar as here. This place is out of control.
As posted elsewhere, I'm on top of it. Cleaned a lot of spam out, and will continue monitoring and "teaching" our forum how to detect and block spam.
Work in progress![]()
Thanks for popping in with an update. You could be doing all kinds of great work behind the scenes, but if you don't let us know with an occasional update, it comes across as if nothing is being done. If it's going to take money for an upgrade, like I've said before I'm sure there are other individuals like myself would throw in some cash.
