Spare tire rim 3rd Gen

Did you ever really look at your spare tire rim? I purchased the 4 Runner not too long ago and now that the really cold weather has passed, I got busy with an oil change and a close look at things that may become important some day. The spare tire was low on air and it really needs to b3e replaced, due to old age issues, BUT, the spare tire rim was a nasty rust pitted mess and it appears to need to be replaced, also. The spare on this truck is a 16" steel rim with a 265/70/16 tire on it. I need to find a good replacement spare tire rim for the Runner, any ideas where. I looked at E-Bay and have not found what I am wanting yet.

I would just watch CList for a matching wheel to what you have on the truck now (3 spoke, 5 spoke etc...). If you've done the tundra brake upgrade the steel rim won't fit on the front anyway.

do you want a stocker for the spare? there are 7 trucks down here that i'm sure have a nice spare rim attached yet.

I have a split three-spoke stock wheel on mine--fits fine.

The questions you are asking have nothing to do with the wheel and everything to do with tire size. What is your concern here?

Yeah, the one it came with from the dealer.

I bought a 5 spoke as a spare to fit over the Tundra brakes mod.
I have the steel wheel spare in my garage - not sure what it would cost to ship - but if it's worth it to you, you're welcome to it.

Actually the question is the rim and whether or not it will fit under the truck, being held by the cable hoist assembly for a spare. The tire size that is under there now, is a 265/70/16 tire with a steel rim that appears to not be very wide. I want to be able to reinstall back in the original place, since these wonderous Runners don't come with a tire rack on the back.

This rig has not been modded to another set of brakes, and it does have a receiver hitch under the rear. We are looking locally for a rim, to see what is available and what cost is involved, then we will go out from there.

As others have said, any OEM rim will fit. They're designed so that if get a flat, you can put the flat wheel under the rig. Lots of people get a matching rim on Craigslist and do a 5 wheel tire rotation.

OKay. As you can see, I did not think about that part---Should have, though.

Anyone know what rims diameter size will work with a Tundra brake upgrade? I understand the issue of a wheel spacer to clear the calipers, but what size is needed to go around the caliper? If I have to upgrade, then this would be a time to start.

Some 16’s would clear. I had a stock rims when I did my. No issues at all
