Spark plug help

I pulled the #1 and 6 plugs for inspection tonight and am a little puzzled by what I see. The #1 plug was a piece of cake, but the coil pack was a %&#*@ to remove on #6. I was really afraid I was going to break something. I finally managed to remove it and now see discoloration near the base of the insulator. It appears maybe the plug is allowing blowback between the insulator and metal casing? I suspect this is what made the coil pack stick.

Just change em out n go have fun...the pic didnt load up for me. When the base of the plug gets discolored its just heat....Change em with some Denso IKH20 and gap em at .035

Anyone have a tip on how to remove a stubborn wire? The #7 plug (closest to the firewall drivers side) wire absolutely will not come off. I've tried everything I can think of - using a screwdriver to depress the tab, wiggling, put a tiny dab of oil on the clip to reduce friction, etc. It almost appears that depressing the tab is not releasing the clip, like the plastic may be fatigued or something. Any ideas?

Guess what I needed was just a break to rethink things. I found a small screwdriver with a little pick on the opposite end in the depths of one of my toolboxes. I used this and put in in the small gap where the latch from the plug hooks to the colil pack, then gently lifted the tab. This worked so well I actually did it for the remaining 6 plugs. I found it MUCH easier than trying to depress the plastic tab with my fat fingers.
