Spark Plugs.

Hey guys.... I just got my truck 10/3/11. I was wondering what kind of spark plugs I should get, and please try to send me some that don't need to be gaped.

I saw some at Wally World, they are Bosch Platinum 4301 plugs. $8.88 for 2.
Then of course, some anti seize compound, make things easier for next time.

Oh, and does the 2UZ-FE (iForce 4.7L V8) need iridium plugs? Thanks, and please let me know of any other into I will need for the job. :thanks:

The Iridium is recommended as they are scheduled to last 100K miles. The plugs I got from the auto parts store was the NGK Laser Iridium IFR6T11 #4589. I have the VVTi V8 (2006-2009), so I'm not sure if it's the same for yours. I paid 6.99 for each one - way cheaper than the dealer!

Mine is the non VVTi (2003)
It has 56K almost 57k and I don't like going 100k on spark plugs... power and mpgs go way down after 60k. (I know that, my buddy did it on his 2004 V8 and aftr he replaced them he saw power went up and was getting 1-2 more mpg)
I don't want to go oem, I know I should but hey, Toyota stealer has prices through the atmosphere. So the NGK Laser Iridium should work on mine? Right now, I'm seeing about 11.8 mpg with a mid lead foot, all city. When I do the job I'm also going to be cleaning the throttle body and MAF and running some sea foam through it. :thanks:

Same with me. I ended up changing mine at about 75K, but my mileage remained the same at about 18.5mpg (85% freeway speeds). The NGK Laser Iridium is basically the same as factory. Yeah, city driving will kill your MPGs on any car minus hybrids.

Lol yeah, after reading up on this (I actually work at a family owned Toyota service shop) and usually if it isn't mine I just put in what we have in stock... witch it always Denso parts but never really saw any NGK plugs.... maybe I just don't look hard enough at them? Who knows, lol. So NGK or Denso will work? We always have Denso, but witch would you use over the other?

The Denso's don't. Ensure that the Part # you have listed there is the same as the one found in the owners manual.

Will do.. just need to get a owners manual... didn't come with one when I bought it but CarMax said whatever I pay for one I get it back.

Oh, and does that mean that the NGK's do?
