New to T4R but long time member of IH8Mud.com.
We picked up a 2007 Limited with OEM 18s back in January. The original 265/60 R18 Michelins are now at the end of their life.
We're running 2012 FJ Trail Team suspension based on advice of this forum and the ride is now way better. Thanks for the great suggestion.
Now considering AT tire options keeping the 18s. I've run through probably 10 sets or more of BFG ATs in various load ranges, a set of Revos, Bridgestone MTs, Geolanders, General Grabbers, Sidewinders, Long Trails etc so I'm not looking for another thread on what tire is best or looking for tire opinions.
So 2 questions:
What I want to know is what sizes people have squeezed in running FJ Suspension with no spacers on 4th Gen T4Rs given that tire options are very limited for 18 inch wheels. ?
Anyone running Load Range E tires have an apple to apple comparison for fuel consumption difference? IMHO, E's are way overkill for this vehicle but unfortunately many of the 18 inch ATs are E rated.
Stock size is 265/60 R18.
I believe 265/65 R18 will fit without rubbing on a stock height T4R.
Anyone have experience running 275/65 R18s with the FJ suspension? I think this size would look great and the tires themselves are a bit easier on the billfold.
Appreciate any firsthand experience....
