Speedo nonfunctional, RPM functional, P0500

Long story short, i sank my truck in deep water couple years ago, Abs light has been on ever since, but speedo worked so i said F it. well the last year or so, every time i hit a bump in the road, speedo will cut out, once come to a complete it will work again, well i changed my CV this week, and after that my speedo is dead, and its throwing p0500 (first time). some say speed sensor runs off ABS some say they run off tranny or transfer, i have no idea, any thoughts?

What year is it? I think 01-02 is the only ones that rely on wheel speed sensors for the speedo operation.

Mine is an 01 and I have the same problem po500 no speedo and the vsc,abs,brake and no communication with scan tools to read live vss data so in my case I think the abs ecu shit the bed.

Mine is 98 so no VSC, im thinking its the abs control unit too but want to see if other people have this problem, granted not many people drive their truck in 5 feet of water but still lol

Did you ever find a solution op? I have the same issue with my 98. I was able to pull codes until the speedo stopped. I had 3 wheel sensor codes and a positive terminal fault. Terminal fault was mouse damage on the passenger front sensor. Since the speedo crapped out I've replaced the transmission speed sensor and repaired some torn insulation on the wiring with no luck.

i tested the resistance on all the speed sensor, the front pass sensor was bad, replaced it with a used sensor and speedo came back.
