Spidertrax Question: Rubbing with 275/70/16 tires and a level kit or a DS 2.5/1.5?

I researched and searched I promise...yes I saw the sticky of the pics of lifts and lift FAQ

Looking for some specific confirmation, trying to search but wanted to be very sure on this point and get a direct and specific answer...

I currently have 4th Gen with a level kit and may want to go a bit higher and would be going with a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift...

I want a more aggressive stance and want to add spidertrax spacers to widen the wheels on stock 16" rims but I do not want to have to trim anything...

Would 275/70/16 require any trimming? If you can please respond with confirmation specifically being sure that you are considering the 1.25" spidertrax wheel spacers it would really put my mind at ease...thanks

or if I have missed a link or post please re-direct me, I am really having a hard time specifically finding 275/70/16 tire size with spidertrax and if it will require trimming or not.

If someone can let me know, I would greatly appreciate it...

I don't think they'll fit without trimming.

When I put 1.25" Spidertrax on mine with a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift, I had very minor rubbing when at full lock - and that was with 265/60R18, which is equivalent to a 265/70R16; you're intending to go slightly wider with 275.

Pushing the fender liners forward a bit and trimming the bottom of the fenders is simple and quick, why not go for it?

the 275/70/16 are wider by .39" but they are smaller diameter than 265/70/16 by .45"

do you think that might offset the width being that 275/70/16 is a slightly smaller tire?

I currently am running 265/70/16 with no rub with just the level kit, no spidertrax yet...

was most concerned with rubbing UCAs or needing a Body mount chop, I could probably trim the fender and remove mud flaps but would rather not...

You definitely won't be rubbing on the UCAs, especially with Spidertrax pushing the wheels even further out. And a body mount chop won't be necessary unless you want to go quite a bit bigger.

A quick online calculator shows my 265/60R18 at 30.5" diameter and 10.43" width, compared to your proposed 275/70R16 at 31.2" dia and 10.83" wide. Yours will be 0.7" larger in diameter and 0.4" larger in width (or thereabouts), which doesn't agree with your math.

Stepping down to a 265/70 or a 275/65 might get you where you want to be, I don't know what the common tire sizes in that range are. If you want to stay at 275/70, I think trimming will be in order. I'll be trimming for my new tires this weekend (hopefully), I can let you know how difficult it is or isn't if you'd like.

Also, this all assumes you move ahead with the Daystar 2.5/1.5 or equivalent lift; lower than that will make things even tighter.

I already have the 275/70/16s I am moving them over on to my 2007 from my 2001 as I am selling the 2001 and swapping tires between vehicles.

i have 265/65/18s that are right at 31.6" with the daystar leveling kit and spidertraxx 1.25 spacers. i had to push the fender liner forward(takes less than 5 minutes) and cut the front mud flap in half (long ways) to get rid of the slight rub i had. the diameter you are looking at is slightly shorter, so i think you'd be okay
