I'm currently looking to use spidertrax 1.25" on my rig with a 3" lift and possibly 285/70r16. My questions are how well do the spidertrax hold up? And does anyone know if they are considered illegal in the state of pa. A few shops say yes and a few say no. Has anyone had any problems with passing inspection with using them?

I run them and have wheeled them hard at Rausch Creek. Also, ran them to Florida and back. No vibes. No issues. Follow the install instructions. USE THE LOCTITE THAT COMES WITH THEM.
As far as inspection, I've never read anything about it on hear or heard anyone mention it before but I'd wait for a PA resident to chime in.
 
Ive wheeled mine multiple years on more trails than I can remember. I have driven from Denver, CO to yellowstone and grand canyon with no vibes, no issues.
 
I've just installed 1.25" Spidertrax on my T4R following the instructions (nut orientation, check after 50 miles, use locktite, clean surfaces etc..) and then drove 1100 miles round trip to SD and back with absolutely no issues. Can't complain! I hear most tire shops won't touch wheels that have them while some don't seem to mind (Tires Plus here in NE.) As for inspection, shouldn't be a problem and are hardly even noticeable since they don't stick out that much at all.
 
I've had mine on for 2 years now, 20Kish miles. Install and torque according to the instructions and you'll be fine.
 
If they make the tires stick out beyond the fenders/flares you're probably not going to pass PAs inspection. They're sticklers for tire coverage. I'm sure there's an official PA webpage somewhere that lists what works and what won't.
 
I ran them. But absolutely hated it. My inner fender cover got destroyed from the tires being out to far. And EVERYTIME I turned into a WAWA or gas station everyowoyld stair because it would rub the plastic lol. And you lose turning radius. So I ditched the front ones and only have them in the back. But they are good spacers.

I understand. But I know for a fact. That when turned all the way. It rubbed my frame more with spacers then without. It's my personal experience. That's all. I simply hated them in the front. But I need them in the rear so the tire doesn't rub against my external reservoir

I understand what you're saying about the fender liner now.

Yeah. It felt like the wire was rubbing my frame on full turn. I agree. It doesn't make sense. Theoretically yes the spacer should make it "not" rub. But no biggie for me. I'm perfectly fine without the spacers. Maybe the tire rubbed on a different spot so I felt it more ?

Well in theory a wider track would give you a larger turning radius, if only a small amount. If you widen the radius, you will produce a larger circle. I'm sure some engineer can chime in here, haha, but that makes sense with my redneck maths.

I guess if you look at it in extremes, if you widened the front track by 5 feet on each side, would you expect to have the same turning radius? :shrug: Me thinks no.

Wheel spacers will cause more wear on wheel bearings. Trust me I do video projects at an off-road shop that installs heaps of lifts and those spacers are the fastest way to replace bearings
