Spindle Nut - Size of Socket?

Hello all,

New to the forums here - go easy on me pls

Need to replace the front rotors and CV boots, check the bearings, etc .... on my 1994 Toyota 4Runner 4WD, my old baby, but it's been neglected since I bought my '03 Limited

I assume I need to pull the spindle nut to get everything to come off. Hayne's manual is worthless for details on this stuff.

I was told that the nut was a 54mm (or 2 1/8") ... so I picked one up from Sears (2 1/8") and it doesn't fit? Do I have the wrong size?Does anybody know where I can get the correct tool for the job?

Did you check to be sure there is no cotter pin?

My bad ... guess I should've cleaned more grease off to see that the lock washer was what was causing the socket to not fit. Thanks for the info ... helped out - 5 min. later rotors are off and I'm continuin' the job!
