Both of mine are w/o spoilers. 2005 Limited and 2007 SR5, I like the way it looks w/ and w/o spoilers....probably going to add one to the Black Limited though.

ok so this was originally my dads car from him company. the order the cars from a fleet company and the cars are custom made in japan and brought over by boat and we pick them up in San Francisco. my car was the first one he got and we didn't know you needed to buy the roof rack extra. lesson learned. LOL. every 2 years he gets a new one and we can buy the car from the company for cheep. NICE! My dad has a 08 my brother has an 07 and I have the 05. My dad has been due for a new one and he is currently waiting on his new 2010! Because they are special made and bought within the company it takes 2-4 months to get a new car. This is why my car didn't have a roof rack or the spoiler.

If your 4Runner has a rear spoiler and has the brake light on the door, that means the spoiler you have was either port installed or added as an aftermarket accessory.

4Runners that came with a factory ordered spoiler do not have the brake light lens in the rear door. In my particular area, all Sport Editions come with the factory installed rear spoiler. I'm not even sure if the Sports could be ordered without it. Almost all Limiteds have the spoiler too. The only 4Runners I see without the spoiler are SR5 models, but even a good percentage of those have it too!

My 4Runner buddy in Texas tells me that most 4Runners are built without spoilers in his area, regardless of whether it is a Sport, Limited, or SR5. He has a Sport Edition without the spoiler and tells me that he likes it better that way.

we have Sports with no spoilers here.

with some help from a Mod here, it has become apparent that southeastern 4runners up until '08 came with port installed 04-05 style no-hump spoilers. all of them have the brake light in the tailgate, which is why i was surprised to hear about tailgates without it.

i rarely see the humped spoilers, either they are 08-09's or they are 4runners that were originally sold elsewhere.

dont know why they did this, but i like the no hump spoiler anyway.

by the way, both tailights work on ours, the one on the tailgate and the spoiler's

the humped spoiler is extremely rare here, even on '06 and up 4Runners

The humpless spoiler , I think is the factory style for the 03 - 04 t4r. If you want a humped spoiler, which is the factory style for the 05 -09, you need to put your name on the list in this other thread so that we can get them made, because no one currently makes them.
