Sport Edition -- modest Front Lift put XREAS at risk?

I currently own a 2009 SR5 V6 4WD, but I am thinking of selling it and buying a 2008-2009 Sport Edition V8 4WD. The reason is that it is likely soon after the first of the year, I will buy a decent sized travel trailer, so I will need the extra torque afforded by the V8. Plus I want the larger brakes in the SE.

I really disliked the bloodhound look, the rake, of my SR5, so I had 1/2" Toytec top-out spacers installed on the front to lift it about 1". I used a local shop that does lots and lots of these lifts. If I buy an SE, I would like to do the same thing, but I have read on this forum that there may be some issues with lifting an SE due to the XREAS suspension system.

My question is this: On an SE, would I be able to have 1/2" or 3/4" top-out spacers installed on the front without damaging or interfering with the XREAS suspension? I'm not interested in lifting the rear, only in doing the modest lift in the front.

That's fine, you won't run into problems until you are around 3" of lift in the front with the CV angles. Many of us with sport editions have the daystar 2.5" topout front spacer (including myself) with no problems at all.

IMO...

The v6 can tow a decent amount just fine. I tow a trailer with about 4500 lbs worth of lawn equipment 3 to 4 days a week and have been doing so for the past 3 years.

I think it'd be much cheaper to just upgrade to stainless steel brake lines, buy a trailer with trailer brakes, and/or possibly upgrade the pads on the T4R.

And you can still lift the SR5 with a little less difficulty than the Sport Edition, all for $160. I'd go ahead a lift the rear as well, especially since you'll be towing a travel trailer
