Billy I dont think those wheels are big enough, looks a bit small

ALso when is the NE site going to be up, want to see some pics of the parts you are cooking up. Looking at mods for my little Runner.

Ahh, that thing could never make runner of the month. As far as NE, this is his roomate posting as Billy wont be around till tomorrow. All that I know is their huge business loan finally went thru and he plans on working like crazy with sept 1 as the date of fully stocked production, etc. I am sure he will keep you all posted.

bulldog -- I am waiting for Billy to send me some pics, and then the site will be up. Things will start coming out and, like Will said, full production will be by September 1st. Until then, we will be doing a lot of R&D and running prototypes to make sure everything is 100% good to go. There is some chance that things will start in full swing before Sept. 1st, but that's the latest.

Hey Billy,

That is one badass truck. This is a fourth generation that finally looks like it is capturing the hertitage of the previous generations of 4Runners that actually went off road! Just a couple of questions... did you originally have the cladding and then replace it with the smooth version or did you have the appearance package for your 03. I'm asking because I was wondering if that plastic cladding can be painted. What custom color did you use...House of Kolor or Dupont?? Great job!

I know Billy has lots of work to do, so until he can get online and reply, I can at least tell you that he did have the appearance package, so it wasn't the cladding like mine.

I think it would probably take a hell of a lot of work to paint the cladding and have it come out looking decent ... are you thinking of painting yours?? What color?

Hey, thanks for the kind words. The damn thing has been an endless project and doesnt show any signs of slowing. I bought the sucker originally as a color cladded sr5 4wd v-8...the paint is galactic grey. After a recent off roading incident and the reshaping of all of the fenders for about the 5th time I finally decided to change up a few things and add the black metallic paint to the lower half. I am not sure of the make of paint, but can find out for you. I have already re-cut the fenders again, so we have some touch up work to do soon. Next time I am out at the shop I will write it down for ya. The rig is back on jack stands as I am swapping out the lugs for lnoger and larger ones to accomidate 1/4" wheel spacers to get away from the upper control arms, and just to get a larger nut on there as well cause those tires weigh over 100 lbs per.

Again thanks...hope this helps. I can tell you that painting the cladding would be no prob though, as we have done it to a couple already. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I imagine the shop would have to sand down the plastic to make the paint stick to the plastic, but I kind of liked the look of the older generations with the contrasting cladding. I think I would go more subtle, I have galactic grey so I would maybe go just one shade lighter than the body paint in a metallic sheen. I'm not sure. I was looking on other forums to see if I could find anyone with cladding that had painted their's. If I find one I will post a picture!

Hey man, go for it! Lemme know if you need any help or guidance. One thing you are going to encounter is that the plastic clips that hold the trim panels on are pretty much a one time use, so if you can have the panels painted while on the vehicle, you are going to save time, $$, and the hassle, etc. The clips go for about .50 cents a pop, and I just had to order up 70 of them. Keep us posted for sure.

Yes, I plan on having them painted while on the truck. One thing though, I am a chick, but I have to say this is the first time I've been called "man"...tee hee, no offense my screen name does not give a clue. I was wondering though, could anyone recommend a good bodyshop her in New Joisey that would know how to do the job correctly the FIRST time!? Like I mentioned before, I imagine the plastic would have to be sanded a bit so the paint would adhere better. Oh and I forgot to mention...I work for the Veterans Admin. in healthcare so if any of you guys are vets ( I know we have some active duty members...thank you for the excellent job! please come home safely) please don't hesitate to drop me a line and let me know if you have any issues with the VA that I can help with...I know it can be difficult dealing with the red tape!! ( drop me a private message)

That is a pretty slick 4Runner. Can't wait till you come out with the rock sliders. I'm not sure if they are the same ones that are on Good Time's truck but if they are I'm picking them up. I hate that cheesey plastic running board. Keep us informed of your release dates

No ARB...just have to trim a little more of the plastic away...I have already re-cut every fender quite a bit...with a nice refinish and paint job it is not even noticable.

FYI-
Got my new studs today. The stock studs are obviously a 12x1.5 pattern that measure 2" long. I bought new ones that are 20x1/2" that are 2 7/8" long. This is going to allow the 1/2" wheel spacers to fit as well as allow the lug nuts to get a much better bite on the stud.

Great looking 4R, but how well does it stop with those tires on. I think you should be upgrading those brakes to fill in the rim a little more. Those big stock rotors don`t look so big anymore.

Thanks brotha...you are entirely correct as well. Each tire weighs 100+lbs and the wheels come in at 60lbs a piece...so over 160lbs at each corner definitely isnt easy for the stock discs to handle. Besides replacing all studs with larger ones, I am on a disc and caliper hunt. Baer and Stillen both have kits for 6x5.5" lug patterns, so getting the disc on would be no prob. What would be though is the fact that these kits are made for both ford and chevy, creating a problem with mounting the caliper. I will be looking into this when I get a break in the action and a little more $$. I'll be sure to keep you all posted.
