Hmm. Some googling later it appears to be a 'pre filter' or the like. An option as opposed to the normal ram intake.

I've never seen one of those in person. I'd think the increased volume from a ram intake would be better than whatever filtering it could do, but obviously some people buy them.

My understanding with the prefilters is they restrict air flow a lot more, but they filter out more particles. Personally my air filter doesn't get that dirty with the snorkel. Think I'm still running the same one from like last January and I've been on a lot of trips since then. I just knock the dust out every once in awhile.

That would make sense. I've got the cyclonic pre-filter in place before my airfliter in any case, so I don't think I'd double up.

Spotted a nice 5th gen this morning on the 10 west. It looked lifted with a whole roof length roof rack and awning. He gave me the thumbs up and I give him a peace sign then he got off on Euclid. Which I had gotten a pic :hello:
