ALL KINDS OF 4RUNNERS! Been all over CO and UT and saw so many cool 4Runners. Talked to Jared about his custom self-built front long-travel set-up while up on Black Bear Pass. The pic I have doesn't do it justice so hopefully he will appear on T4R with better pics and info.

and of course had to stop and talk to this guy about his awesome colored 96 4Runner and heavy duty trailer. His 'secret' to pulling that monster is a super charger and 4.88s. Having a stick doesn't hurt, either, I'll bet. Mine is the same color, just super super dirty, as was I- he was pretty sporting to get that close to me! We were picking up the hubby's green 4Runner from the Monarch Crest trail head at Monarch Pass.....

Sitting in traffic on 84 heading west into Portland. Super clean 5th Gen with fender flares, looks awesome!

I just returned from a weeks long vacation in Jamaica and wanted to share this story.

About 25-30 years ago, Toyota Corporate came to the country and asked if they could start setting up dealerships. The Jamaican govt told them they simply didnt have the roadway-infrastructure to carry the types and amounts of cars toyota sells. So toyota made a huge donation, both in autos and financials to the island nation. They donated millions to simply help build up the roadways of the island, so that they could have better intra-island transportation. Then they donated hundreds of vehicles; cars, pick ups, mini vans, suv's to the government and private business, for use as everything from police vehicles, cabs, buses, govt general work cars, etc. Boom, Toyota was allowed to set up shop in various parts of the island to sell their cars. For this reason, Toyota is by far the most seen car maker there.

While i was there, i saw, among other things, Fortuners, Hiluxes, 4runners, Tacos, LC Prados...and all i could think was wow, so close to U.S. shores, yet so far.

FWIW...Fortuners look the part, but they are alot smaller than 4Runners.

sorry, no pix...but it was cool to see them all in use around the island.

Im new to this website but figured it would be the best source of figuring out my 4runner problems. I have a 1996 Toyota 4runner Sr5 V6. I recently gave it a complete tune up. New Spark Plugs and Wires, Oil and Oil Filter, Air Filter, Coolant, Fanbelts and Radiator Hoses. My problem: Even after tune up, its power only increased a little and I seem to be burning way more gas then before. Any suggestions.? Please reply, anybody. Thanks

This is the spotted thread. You will get a better chance of getting an answer if you post your question in the proper section.

I saw this modified 3rd gen at Jean Klock Beach in St. Joseph, MI today. Blew my mind to see another modded 4Runner in my area. Are you on here?

Engineer where you driving on 50th and Xerxes tonight around 7:45ish?

I wasn't, we were in EP for dinner then home by that time. However A coworker of mine has seen what he says is a very similar looking truck in that area. He is not a car guy so hard to get details but he said same color and with a rack (no idea about grill, sliders, tires etc)

Does he have a gobi rack and ladder? Or is he tight lipped about that?
