Spotted in San Francisco today around 3pm.
It was all decked out. I drooled on it a little for about 10 minutes.

Some homeless dude is trying to figure out what to do with half a ton of recovery gear right about now from under his new tent/awning.

Totally, I thought the same thing and looked closer and most of the gear is all on locked latches or RotoPax lock downs. The owner did a really good job securing a lot of it. In fact the secure locks alone was probably over $1000.

Having experience with the Tacoma’s, the frame was not designed for that much loading off the back (bumper et al) and needed reinforcement. Is the same true with the 4runnner?

Totally, I thought the same thing and looked closer and most of the gear is all on locked latches or RotoPax lock downs. The owner did a really good job securing a lot of it. In fact the secure locks alone was probably over $1000.

There are some crusty zombies in Nob Hill that will surprise you with their resourcefulness. I don't leave change in the open that city has gotten so bad.

It depends. It is highly recommended that you add the Sonoran Steel Rear 4Runner Polyurethane Body Mounts. Especially if you plan on adding a rear bumper with swing out and or extra weight. If you neglect this upgrade, the extra added weight in hanging off the rear frame might allow the frame to flex the heavier bumper into the body to cause damage. The solid polyurethane body mounts firm up the rear contact between body and frame. These are easiest to add while bumper is removed, so order prior to bumper installation.

I'm all for poly, but doing two mounts is half-assing a solution. That's literally a $25 universal poly mount kit with a couple machined plates and $50 tacked onto the price tag.

Do it right and get the whole kit!!

I've always wanted to do that but since i live in a big city, my 4runner will be in a impound lot soon after.

I do it fairly often and my kid just gets a HUGE smile on his face cause now he has to jump out of the vehicle versus stepping down. I figure if i'm just 'trying' to fit in the spot due to my swing away

I saw a Glacier Metallic 3rd gen going west on hwy 40 in west St. Louis county today, first time seeing one of those in Missouri.

I saw so many 4Runner's at Lincoln City, OR (beach access with vehicles) that I had to try to convince a 5th gen owner to 'lightly modify his truck like mine'

The sad thing is all I talked to had zero idea of t4r.org (Toyota-4runner.org)

So much has changed recently for me that I have the biggest smile on my face driving my 4Runner and I think it's contagious to others I wave/say hi to because of their rigs

I didn't realize what day I posted this on till you said something, lol. So it wasn't and I did talk to a few of them and asked but most were like what's that.

I need to get new stickers ordered, they had to be relocated due to my soft-top engineering.

Alvord - It was so unique I wouldn't mind to do it again. I would suggest some of the area's to have ONE other rig or a land anchor with you. The south of Fields area was super unique but the mud was beyond words to explain.
