Sprint Booster

Shoot - I just got my V3 in the mail and now I'm sketch about it after reading your experience... Any one else on here have negative experiences with this? I have a brand new TRDP and I am sketch messing with anything like the throttle if it will cause issues.

Yeah im interested in it as well but not if there are reliability issues. Interested if anyone else has had an issue!

Bump... Any new updates on this regarding reliability and off-road function? Just today I came across this thread and this seems like a much needed mod.

I cant speak to Version 3 but I have V2 and it has worked great so far in about a year. it has made driving with stock gears, a pretty good amount of weight, and 315's pretty peppy. I like my version as it has one button and is pretty small and have not had any of the CEL issues people have posted above in varying terrain.

I'm usually pretty skeptical of these types of devices, but I can say this one did make daily driving the truck much better. I recommend it

As far as offroadability, I'm not even going to try it for the rock crawling I do. Bumpy dirt road stuff or maybe even light trails you should be fine.

I have seen two versions, but if i were to get one i would really just want the single button single LED version. Which version is that? is there anyway that i can specify that one or does anyone know where i can get one?

Maybe there is a way to just swap between the old style FOB thing and the new one while obviously not buying a whole new sprint booster. I would imagine this is possible as long as they have the same plug into the actual unit.

Best Mod I have done to this rig.

The weak throttle input in stock form is ridiculous. You push on the pedal and nothing happens. Thanks government /CAFE standard.

Completely changes how it drives - for the better in my opinion.

I was argue that it's Toyota's interpretation of that standard and their very confused thinking that everything should be like a Prius, despite them saying they don't want that.

Someone posted the link to tdotperformance earlier so I checked it out. Just wanted to let you guys know that they are having a Canada Day sale right now. Code is "OCANADA" V3 for $227 and V2 for $200 shipped to US! For $27 I am going to go with the V3. I like the valet option...

I'll post back once I receive and install it.

I think you will end up getting the V3 regardless of what you order. I ordered a V2 from them a couple of weeks ago and they sent me v3. Still got it for the price of the v2. Haven't installed it yet.

Got it installed (super fast shipping BTW, I wasn't expecting it for a couple weeks) but haven't had a chance to drive it yet. Took all of 1 minute to plug the unit into the pedal (didn't remove it per the instructions). Has taken me 3hrs to try and decide where I want to put the controller.

Where has everyone mounted theirs? There is a nice spot underneath the steering wheel on the right side but to hide the wire I would have to drill a small hole. Not sure if I want to do that just yet. If I mounted it upside down in that same location the hole would be hidden so I might do that. I'll get some pics soon to illustrate what i'm talking about.

I installed mine about a week ago and so far I really like it. I installed the controller on the blind plug closest to the left-hand side of the steering column. I also did not want to do any cutting/drilling/modifications to the actual lower dash panel so I was able to find a way to only cut/modify the blind plug to install the controller. I will try to take a picture and post it when I can.

What's this?
PEDALMAX Enhanced Throttle Response some 2007-2017 PX1116TYV2

PEDALMAX Enhanced Throttle Response some 2007-2017 (PX1116TYV2)

PedalMAX® is the industry's first and only complete solution designed to improve throttle response and improve driving characteristics. PedalMAX is easy to install, and plugs in-line between the vehicle's throttle position sensor and vehicle harness, providing a huge improvement in throttle performance and responsiveness.

All Toyota vehicles built today are equipped with a "drive-by-wire" electronic throttle. One of the biggest consumer complaints has been poor throttle response and throttle lag, especially in performance or racing applications. JMS PedalMAX® is designed to improve the throttle response.

Makes your vehicle fun to drive again.

Other extended PedalMAX® benefits include, seamless and warranty-friendly installation, advanced user throttle control via the optional control knob, and the device requires no aftermarket OBD-II tuning or programming. This innovative new product can also be stacked or used in conjunction with common aftermarket OBD-II programmers and monitors such as: SCT, Bully Dog, Diablosport, Hypertech, Superchips, Edge and other manufacturers’ products.

PedalMAX® features exclusive JMS digital technology housed in a proprietary sealed enclosure, and comes complete with plug and play wiring harness using OEM connectors for quick installation. The complete system is designed to be used regardless of engine size and will improve the driving experience significantly while adding improved low and mid-range performance

If you could get a pic would be great. I unplugged the controller for the time being because it was driving me nuts just dangling.

I'm still debating drilling a hole...

i just installed a pedal commander, yet another competitor product. Worked great! The way it changed the pedal feel is very impressive. No Jerkiness or anything crazy, just feels smoother.
