Squeaking from a Passenger side top plate Strut (PHOTOS)

Hi,

Since a week I notice a squeaking noise coming from the passenger front side.
I thought it was a Ball Joint.

I did jack both side to check the Ball joint : the wheel is intact, no play AT ALL. Even if I try to force it. So I supposed that is not the ball joint.

So I decided to Shake the car by hand and then: squeaking noise is coming from the top plate of the strut where the Coil spacer is. I sprayed a "grease" on it, it stopping squeaking until it dry. Seems like the strut top plate squeak.

Here is the lower ball joint condition:
I was surprise how there is no play at all on each side of the BJ.

So any experiences on this squeak? Is my strut is moving?

Your front shock absorbers (strut) are out! I had the same noise and oil on the outside of the strut. The top plate never squeak because it is sandwiched with 3 nuts and bolts.

Have you ever replace the front struts?

No, not yet. Only the rear. Interesting. Thanks for your comment
