I have a 2005 4Runner and over the last year an intermittent buzzing/squealing noise has come from behind the dash around the steering column. The duration of the noise and the frequency is random. It seems to happen in warmer weather and starts about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after the car has been running. The car does not have to be moving or in gear. I took the car to the dealer with a video but they would not look at it without hearing the noise in person. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was able to have the service tech hear the sound and it was determined that it is the ABS accumulator pump. The problem is that they don't know exactly what is making the noise and recommend replacing the unit. Big bucks. Now I am just trying to zero in on the cause of the noise. Again, any thoughts would be appreciated.
