piperoo New member Nov 20, 2009 #1 When I back up, my 4runner squeeks...it sounds like it might only be when I hit the brakes...but it doesn't squeek while going forward. Any ideas? I am replacing the rotors and brakes next week (finally)....so maybe that is the issue?

piperoo New member Nov 21, 2009 #3 Yes, it is an auto tranny.....it sounds like brakes or something...it is sporadic...not constant.
M MunkeyTX New member Nov 24, 2009 #5 Could be something as simple as a worn u-joint; it's common for them to make noise in reverse when they are worn out. How the heck can someone diagnose a bad trans from a squeak in reverse? Must be some psychics on here...

Going to check the u-joints when the brakes and rotors are being done. It ONLY squeeks when the brakes are being pressed.

piperoo New member Nov 24, 2009 #9 Not sure what brakes are on there right now...but I got the Duralast Gold Cmax to put on there and Duralast rotors as one of the T4R'ers recommended. They are going to check the UV joints etc while they are putting them on.
