SR5 vs. SR5 Premium

Hey Guys,

I had a quick question. Could one you please tell me some of the differences between the Premium Trim for the SR5 and the Base Trim aside from the major ones. I have been trying to look them up to see if I would miss anything that I would consider significant if I was to opt for the Base model. Thanks for your help.

Premium has:

Turn signals on outside mirrors
Moonroof
Entune premium
App Suite
Softex seats
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Heated seats
Universal garage door opener

I probably missed something. I just made this same comparison last month before I bought my new 4Runner. Pretty sure you can get on the Toyota website and compare these two trims side by side.

x2

Download the brochure from Toyota's website and it will list the differences in detail. The ones listed above are the big ones.

Be careful though, apparently premium doesn't mean premium sound. The premium sound is nothing like an Acura.....

That is not a fair, nor appropriate comparison. A more befitting comparison would be the Acura to the Lexus- have you heard the Mark Levinson in the GX?

Then you can compare the Honda audio system to the Toyota audio system.

Let's not get too over dramatic when comparing, instead compare apples to apples for a fair and just assessment.

I can honestly say the 4Runner sound system is better than a '76 Chevy pickup one speaker AM radio system. That is my baseline.

Our sr5 has,,
sun roof
premium sound
nav system
leather
heated seats
steering wheel controls
mirror turn signals
third row
steps
tinted rear view mirror

This made me laugh. I'm staying away from that thread. The sound in my new 4Runner is leaps and bounds better than in my last two Chevy Silverado's (2008 & 2011) with the mid-level trim package (non-Bose).

I was.....In that thread I told the OP to compare the Acura to a Lexus. And thanks Stif, I hate it when my sarcasm is wasted.

HAHA... I read that thread about the sound not being "premium" and I cannot believe the person would not test the radio before dropping 30K plus. The more I look into, the more frustrated I become with how Toyota has simplified their packages to a select few. After looking at all the stuff, my 2001 Runner did not have a sunroof and in my current car I have used it a total of like 15 times in 4 years. My only other question is that the Premiums have an Auto-dimming rear view mirror and the base has this glare resistant stuff. Can anyone explain the difference between to the two.

How tall are you? The sunroof eats up mucho head space. I chose non-premium because I couldn't fit in it with a sunroof.

I am little bit over 6 ft. And I was making the case that I do not need the sunroof because I do not use it. Plus it is just one additional part that can break down the road.
