stand alone washer bottle skid?

seems like with so many different shops making aftermarket bumper options for the 5th gen someone should have stepped up with a stand alone option for washer bottle protection. Shrockworks has an integrated skid, and there are a couple other relocated kits on the market, but for anyone else out there (like me) with several mods under the hood, space quickly becomes a rare commodity therefore making a relocate kit not practicable.

I can't seem to find any other options, has anyone else?

here is Hefty Fabworks offering. you can clearly see how exposed the washer bottle is (several other brands hang it out there even more), wouldn't take much to get a stick up in there while off road

My Addicted Offroad bumper just got back from powder coating, and I'm kind of torn on what I want to do. I've got on-board air where your battery is, and don't want to give up the spot where your air is because I may want another battery when I start winching.

It wouldn't be very hard to get some ~1/4 inch sheet steel and bang a shield into shape to guard the bottle with the way that bumper sits. You'd have to drill/weld into your new bumper, or figure out some other way to hang it though.

Or....Get just a generic washer fluid bottle and relocate it to just about anywhere else on the truck. My crossmember for the bumper had to be recoated and I should get it later today, but I'm thinking that there will be room behind it and the bumper to put a small washer bottle center of the truck in there. Of course filling it would be a pain at that point....


But I'm about 90% just going to leave it alone till it gets smashed.

I'm almost done with my Relentless Fab bumper for my 4th gen and planning on some type of winch bumper for my 5th gen as well. In both cases, I think I'm going to fab my own washer bottle protection instead of relocating it because I'm also planning on going with a second battery and on-board air setup. If I knock a hole in it after that, then I will figure out how/where to relocate it.

The Hefty Fab guard is just ok. It still leaves about 3 inches of the washer bottle assembly exposed from the front and does nothing about side contact. I attached a few straight on pics of mine to illicit my point. It seems that on the Hefty bumper it would be fairly easy to make a larger bolt on guard to resolve the situation. Maybe Chris would consider making one. (Chris says he's never hit his and neither have I, and to the best of my knowledge neither has anyone else, so maybe solving a problem that doesn't need solved?)
I believe that I saw a washer bottle kit that used the existing location but was smaller and didn't come down as far. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it now. I'll keep looking. For myself I have it on my over the winter list to do something about it. But I have also decided against going to a 2 battery setup for a few reasons. First the issue with getting everything under the hood and protecting the washer bottle at the same time. Secondly, weight and cost. I haven't yet drawn my deep cell battery all the way down winching so I decided on 2 of these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I9HGMYO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
One for jumping the other for general recharging. For me it seemed cheaper and easier to have these than all the work and cost to achieve the same end result. Especially on the recharging end of things with the kids endless use of electronics. Plus the Antigravity Power Supply does a better job recharging laptops than the truck has. As well the truck will recharge the power supply although it takes quite a while.
Just my poor mans solution to the problem. I may someday go to a two battery setup but for the time being...

I use Shrockworks 2nd battery tray. That allows for plenty of room for relocating the water bottle and my CAI.

can't tell from your photos here guys, but does the Hefty guard wrap underneath as well, or does it just cover the front and sides? I'm thinking I may need to get a break and start bending some metal

Yes and no. It does wrap under but not below the washer bottle assembly. It's actually protecting a metal tube on both sides of the truck that I unfortunately can't identify :crybaby:

You don't need a big bottle... Should be able to find a spot for something small and just refill often.

For people without multiple batteries... its pretty easy to find a spot. The rear of the truck is also an option.

Really? I haven't had issues with my 35's rubbing on anything forward of the spindle.

that is a hard line which goes to the AC condenser panel in front of the radiator

I took some quick cell phone pics last night.....I am utilizing Shrockworks dual battery tray as well as their water bottle relocation kit ( the replacement bottle is actually metal)

Not an option for me unfortunately, not without relocating my compressor to the passenger compartment anyway.

Also, why is your intake eating that poor, defenceless yellow top?
