I also have a rotor warping issue. I don't tow, but live on a long hill. 70% front 30% rear. I've been having rotor warping for years. A mechanic said warped again and it's less than year since changing calipers and milling the rotors. The mechanic said it must be rear drum/shoe adjustments. Tacoma rotor and caliper will solve the problem? Seems like it's more than an adjustment.

Is he milling the rotors within spec? Rotors don't come with a lot of meat on them these days. It's better to just replace. Are you running Tundra calipers? Yes, the rear drums are extremely overlooked.

My limited experiences are with OEM pads & rotors. On line I once was cheated with counterfit Honda Pilot rear pads. I checked rear about 20,000 miles after install and inside passenger pad was 1 mm! The other 3 pad not much better. Replaced with Honda dealer pads and got my usual 60k front and 75k rear. Never machined or replaced the rotors and sold vehicle at 240,000 miles-rotors were still in thickness spec.
I Always use factory brake components from the local dealer.
On my SR5 I put on new dealer purchased Pads at about 45,000 as I was going on a cross country trip and was prepared to buy a trailer on the trip if I found one. Did not turn rotors. Pads have lots of use left now at 67,000.

Planning to do this in a few weeks. Current brakes just don't inspire confidence on mountain roads. Hoping they will fit with my tacoma 16" rims I'm putting on.
