About a week ago my 1991 4runner wouldn't start. It has a 3.0 with a little over 170k on it. I messed with the terminals, and it started back up. I realized that the terminals were kind of corroded, so I loosened them up, cleaned them and put them back on there. It started and ran fine for a couple of days, and then it just stopped starting. The engine turns over, but it just won't actually start. I replaced both terminals today, and now it's not starting at all. The battery is reading a full charge on the gauge, and all my lights, signals are working fine. I had the alternator and battery checked at the auto parts store a few days ago when it was running, and they said everything is fine. I also inspected all the connections on what I think is the distributor, and they all looked good, except for the main plug in the center of the cap. When I removed it the round metal terminal stayed inside the cap. I pulled it out with pliers, reattached it the wire, and plugged it back in. I don't know the exact term for the wire, or if I reconnected it properly, which might be the problem? I'm not a super savvy mechanic, I have a little know how and some common sense, but I'm worried that this might be beyond me. Any input would be appreciated.
