I had a small push button key lock box welded under my truck for a few bucks by a local welding shop. It works like a charm. If you have a hitch they do have boxes that slide inside. See url.

There is a place up under the front end, where it is generally out the way of fiording water (not that I hide mine there or anything).

To avoid the problems with soaking the expensive chip key, it may be a good idea to have a cheap metal key cut that will open the doors hidden outside the vehicle, and then have the computer chip key hidden safely inside the vehicle somewhere.

If the cheap key starts to get corroded after a few years, just throw it away and get a new one cut for a few bucks.

It might work, just don't tell everybody that you have your keys hidden in and under your vehicle. Somebody can take an advantage and take it for the "ride"...
