steering and sway bars

I decided I need to replace my inner/outer tie rods and swaybar end links but not sure if I really need to spend the extra $$$ for oem parts I found all the parts I need at autozone (duralast brand) with lifetime warranty for around $200.

are these parts similar to LBJ's where if you don't go OEM you'll be sorry or do a lot of guys run these aftermarkets without much issue?

I see no reason to spend money on OEM end links. those aren't priority parts like LBJ's. I really don't see an issue with aftermarket OTR's other than they rust a lot easier. Aftermarket OTR's come with new adjustment bolts as well. Can't speak for the ITR's. If it was me, I'd save some money and go Aftermarket.

Swaybar end links - not a very sophisticated part, and if it breaks, pretty minimal consequences. NAPA, Vato-zone, O'Reiley etc. is fine.

Tie rod ends - Not mission-critical like the LBJ's, but a little more important than swaybar end links. I would go with a Japanese-made part if the price isn't too crazy. Otherwise, just inspect your cheapo parts and make sure they look similarly built compared to the stock ones and hang on to that warranty info.

I'll agree with the other posts about the sway bar links. Get what is ever easiest to find.

For the Inner and Outer Tie Rods... I went with a company called Proforged for the inner. However, in my research I found the OEM outers weren't to much more money than good quality aftermarket ones.

This is exactly what I did. Got the outers from camelback toyota online and used proforged inners. They are holding up great.

Good to know the Proforged ITRs are holding up well. This was my first time using them, so was a little skeptical at first.

ya its my first time too but i did some research on them and they checked out. parts are made in Taiwan which is good and lots of positive feedback on the older muscle car forums.

In my experience, the only decent part with a Duralast name on it is a battery. The Duralast steering parts in particular are crap - you'll be using that warranty, multiple times. I'd go to NAPA or Oreillys or anywhere but Autozone for your parts.

Even the batteries are crap. Good luck with the duralast parts. My neighbor got his end links for his corolla with duralast and within 18 months we replaced it twice... yes it was free... but why make end links a regular maintenance?

Few extra $ with OEM and you will get peace of mind for at least 10 years.
