I have a 85 runner . It has a 5 inch lift w/33's . Inspected the steering & everything seems tight . Had an alignment shop check it out & they said alignment was fine . So here's the next question , who else has a lifted 4runner & drives it on the street . ( at 55-70 mph ) my truck sways . Would the high steer mod make a huge improvement ?

my 92 is not lifted but i have 33s and it sways....so i was woundering the same thing...makes me think its just the tires

The stock push-pull steering on the solid axle trucks is not to made to work well with that much lift, cross-over steering would make a huge improvement.
Also, a suspension lift would change your caster angle, which will make the truck wander or dart around on the road.

As far as swaying, sitting higher will cause that. Are the anti-sway bars still connected?

Yeah they are . I bought the truck as is w/lift . I would have prob. went with a 3 inch & cut fenders to clear tire .

lol!

I have 33's, ome and a 1"bodylift , and no steering stabilizer right now(ho bad is that?). I tend to cruise at 60 on the highway, 65 only if necessary, it kills my buzz :) but that being said, I dont notice much 'swaying' with my truck. If there is swaying that is noticeable, its been since I pulled off my steering stabilizer. Otherise, she tracks well...
Maybe its because I cruise at 60? The truck feels differently at 65 than 60, id say worse.

Extended the torque rod bracket (to level the torque rod)it has a 5inch lift . It improved the ride a little. It was at a sharp angle due to the lack of the lift bracket .Noticed my tie-rod was slightly bowed to . There also was a little play in the left front wheel bearing . I think after those issues are resloved i will attempt to get another alignment on it .
