Steering Problems

Hey guys,
I need some serious help. My power steering is giving me trouble. It only works in the early mornings for like 2 minutes. Then, at that point, it can barely be rotated unless i'm moving or step on the throttle in neutral. Something's obviousely gone bad. What can I troublleshoot to get it fixed? I'm getting shoulder surgery next month and need that power steering to get around!

Have you checked the simple stuff first? Such as making sure there is enough fluid?
Maybe the pump is acting up?

fluid check, probably takes ATF instead of PS fluid...but check manual. If very low, you may have a burnt PS pump. Check belts condition, tension. Learn the process of flushing the PS system, then, jack up front to bleed air out of the system
