Do you use hand lotions? Do you notice you grip the steering wheel too firmly?
The stitch on covers on AMAZON are pretty good. Time consuming but factory look when done.
I will have nothing better to do then spend 6 hours stitching it on![]()

I just installed a Loncky / Xuji cover pre-emptively on my '18 before my hands could get a chance to shred the OEM cover. I love the results. Posted here...

I think gripping the steering wheel too hard is the reason my 2007 jetta's wheel was reduced to nothing at the top. I've been trying to umm not grip the 4Runner so tightly. But I figure I should get a cover as an extra layer of protection. Granted both wheels are/were leather.
I guess some of us, uh, grip tighter than others... but body chemistry / sweat and dirt / oils / residues left on the hands and transferred to the wheel leather actually play a huge role here too. I've seen guitarist's sweat eat through metal bridges where they rest their hands when playing, it's kinda insane.
