Stell4R's Blurple Build

Well I picked up my 4Runner a few weeks back and have been going through some of the builds over and over again to dream about what I wish I could do to my truck but 95% of those wont happen (at least for a long while).

From what I could tell the PO was a old guy who just wasnt driving much anymore so he sold it. Runs fantastic and cant wait to get out camping with it.

Heres some info on her:

2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5
121k original miles
3.4L V6
4x4
One owner (im the second)
Blah, blah, blah (typical stuff)

Maintenance

Heres the maintenance I will be doing within the next week or so:

Finished!

• Battery

Still gotta do

• PCV Grommet
• PCV Valve
• Spark Plug Wires
• Spark Plugs
• Fuel Filter
• Radiator & hoses

Also waiting for the new plates to come in and going to get that rear door fixed up a little bit so the metal isnt showing at least. If anyone knows someone near Seattle that'll do the work for a cheap price let me know.

Haha should probably change that to "budget" as I can slowly save.

I'll send you a message here soon about that. Undecided if it's worth fixing the dents.

Thanks! I really dig it, especially in the NW where it changes between dark purple to a bright dark blue depending on the weather.

I think I'm probably going to paint the front and rear bumper parts that are chrome to a black since they aren't in great shape anyway and I've never been a huge chrome fan. Should show off the color more too.

I actually got one from a friend for free. Not the Denso so I might look into selling it but need to see what the quality of it is and if its just worth keeping and putting in. Starting to gather the parts for that swap (new hoses, etc).

New 2010 SR5 Wheels

Got some new wheels/tires to replace the stocks so that down the road the brake upgrade wont be a problem. They are 2010 SR5 wheels/tires. Loved the look of them and for most of my parking lot trips and highway helped with comfort.

Haha I know. Ive gotten pretty lazy and wanted to get it up to date. Mostly for my piece of mind.

New wheels, winch and running board removal

Ok well heres where I stand currently. Got a package deal for some 2016 Trail Edition wheels and a Smittybuilt winch that I could pass up.

Also took off the running board to clean up the sides and help make it look like I lifted it.

Heres how its sitting right now:



On the agenda is to have a friend fab up a front bumper hitch receiver or save for a bit and get a NWTI plate bumper for the winch.



Also picked up a pair of OME shocks for the rear with 15k miles so keeping an eye out for some FJ front/rear springs to give a little lift.

Thanks. I am definitely in love with the look of them and a small lift that they give. Still want to get a small 1" - 2" lift to clean it up a bit.

Also, saw you mentioned a NWTI bumper, if you're looking around at options and such, you should check out Badlands Bumpers (Not to be confused with the Badlands winches that Harbor Freight sells). They're a local fab shop that specializes in bumpers for older Toyotas based out of Ravensdale, WA. Good pricing and the pictures that they have on their website looks like quality stuff. This coming summer I'm going to be going through them for a front bumper, so if you still haven't gotten a bumper by then, I'll let you know about my experiences with them.

I actually help mod the page a bit so you'll probably see my truck floating around on there quite a bit. Glad your part of it also!

I will definitely have to check out that company too! I just want a plate bumper for sure. Let me know your experience!

Well a few updates. Apparently I'm becoming a parts hoarder now until I have some time and friends to help me out.

Anyway to the updates:

I picked up front, rear and sliders from NW Trail Innovations a few weeks back. They are weld together kits but made extremely well and recommended by a few guys I know locally.



I also ended up selling the 2016 wheels I had to get a more aggressive set of tires that were on some Tacoma TRD wheels. I ended up with this set cause I loved the tires and finding a 5th wheel should be pretty simple for my rear bumper tire swing out. They are Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 (265/75/16).



Past that I'm starting to plan out my lift which will be 5100s front and rear with OME 881 front and OME 890 rear. I thought about going with the tundra front coils but the price was higher than OME since they aren't as easily available.

I like the TRD Taco wheels. If you ever want something different they look great painted graphite, that's what I've got now.
