Hey all , pretty new here but, here is what I have going on...
1997 3.4l 4x4 5spd SR5
170k
This truck is new to me but have some service history.
t/b was done at 135k
So far I have done:
Oil and filter change
Drained and flushed cooling system
trans oil w/ 75w-90 synth
transfer oil w/ 75w-90 synth
f&r diff oils w/ 75w-90 synth
front sway bar links replaced - were broken
all accessory belts
replaced spark plugs and wires
tightened loose valve cover bolts. I wouldn't say they were leaking but more seepage.
installed new indash cd player w/ BT
Installed new polk component speakers in front doors
replaced wipers all around.
So I used Castrol saf-xo 75w-90 api gl-5 in the driveline.....is that ok?
Looks as if there is play/ slop in the sway bar bushings and also the steering rack. Looks llike Energy poly bushings are the way to go as far as replacing?
Rear U joint has some play in it. Any suggested replacement parts there? oem ? napa, etc?
Future plans include;
lift 2-3" shocks are worn out anyway so time to do it!
Tundra brake upgrade would seem to make sense as we have a smaller camper trailer and live in/near the mountains
Rear storage compartment/ sub box in a false floor.
Need to replace broken cup holder-that is a silly design. Any other options out there?
Matt
