Still Can't Order a 2005 Sport V-8 4x4

At least in my part of the country, I still cannot order the vehicle I want, a 2005 Sport V-8 4x4. From what I learned today, I hope that I will be able to by the end of the month.

What experience are others having that seek to order a 2005 4-Runner with a V-8 engine?

Where were you able to order your 4x4 V8 4Runner? I'm in L.A. and haven't had any luck. I was told to check back in November or December about ordering.

I live northwest of Chicago. I have been working with 5 dealers waiting to get prices on an 05 V8 Limited. None of them have been able to give me prices yet. Gotta believe if they could they would.

I have been working with a dealer here in southern California to order the 2005 V8 4Runner. He has put my order in the system but says that it won't be picked up until december. So I really haven't "ordered" it yet its just there in the system waiting until Toyots looks at it in December. So the dealers are correct when they say that they can't order it yet, but they can put it in the system to be ordered. Also prices on the V8 won't be out until December/January, as I've been told.

Side and Curtain Air Bags

I am now being told that I cannot order side and curtain airbags with a 2005 Sport. Is there ayone out there who has been able to order a 2005 Sport with side and curtain airbags. I hate to go to a Limited. However, I really want the side and curtain airbags.
I want to get a 4x4 with a V-8 engine.

It may depend upon your region. Certain vehicles come equipped differently depending upon what region of the country you are in.

I would call around to some other dealers and ask - some dealers either don't want to special order so they'll tell you that or they may just be wrong.

It wouldn't surprise me that in the end I'll be told the same thing. But I'll at least wait until they start delivering the V-8s to make sure.

One option would be to call dealers and tell them you are looking for the same vehicle but in a 2004. They can check other dealers fleets. If they find a 2004 V-8 Sport 4x4 with that option then you probably can special order it in your region.

are they completely getting rid of the 235 hp 320 torque i-force v8 of the 03-04's? or will it be an option below the new 270 hp v8 commin out?

Yes. They are discontinuing the 235 hp V-8. The new V-8 has both more hp and torque as well as VVTI technology which should help the engine run more efficiently thereby increasing mpg a bit.
