As some of you may or may not know, my wife and I are planning to purchase a new, trail premium here in the not too distant future. I was looking up the weight limit of the stock cargo rails as we're planning to put an RTT on it. I've been told by the manufacture the RTT weighs about 160lbs but, when I looked up the weight capacity of the stock cargo rails, it's listed at 120lbs. I was a little surprised as most of them I've seen have been 150lbs at least. This gives me some worry as I was planning to add Yakima timberline towers and core bars as the support system for the RTT.
What do you guys think? Lifted this directly out of the 4runner's owners manual:
"Do not exceed 120 lb. (54 kg) cargo weight on the roof luggage carrier."
