Stock Panhard Length

Does anyone have the stock panhard bar length, center bolt hole to center bolt hole? I want to put my Icon adjustable back to that since I bought the bar mount bracket and adjust from there. I'm getting some rubbing on my RCI gas tank skid and axle yoke. To get it to stop rubbing I know I have to shorten my bar which I have already done and am almost out of threads to shorten. I'm actually on the lowest hole on the bracket and my left side sticks out farther than my right. I am running 3" Dobinsons springs, but my Wilco and drawer system weighs it down GOOD. Maybe I just go back down to stock mount and bring it back in if I can't get my Icon adjustable panhard to be any shorter so I can shift my axle short. And to center it, where do you guys (and girls) measure from? Or do you just eye ball the tires at the fender?

I don't have the exact answer you're looking for but I went through the same exercise on the 80 series last week when I installed a similar deal for the rear panhard rod.

After installing the extension bracket, i shook the body to get it to wiggle and then it settled down naturally. I have an adj rear panhard rod as well and mounted the frame end first. Then, I laid the axle end on top of the bracket and noticed that it was missing the bracket bolt hole by almost 1/4". So, I kept reducing the length of the panhard rod until both bolt holes naturally lined up.

I have yet to install my 4runner bracket extension but I don't have an adj rod. However, I'm hoping that the bolt hole on the axle end and panhard rod will line up naturally after the bracket is installed. I hope.....

Those brackets put unnatural stress on the frame mount and axle bracket. I've seen them rip the brackets off the axle or frame. I would personally never use one under any circumstance. If you have an adjustable bar, remove those brackets and adjust the bar accordingly. That's the whole point in having an adjustable bar.

I get it. But I could also see it helping as the angle pressure on a very lifted truck. Leveling out the bar could help. Not going to get into that as that's not what this thread is about, but I may be putting my bar back down to the stock hole anyway if my yoke still hits my skid tomorrow. Didn't have any issues before with my panhard bar length. So I'll have a $90 part welded to my axle. Live and learn!

I'm curious if you've seen this happen on Jeeps or on Toyotas?

Your adj bar will only keep the axle centered at rest. As soon as one side or the other moves up, the axle will shift and you'll have rubbage. Guaranteed. I've been experiencing this for years in the 80 with the adj bar. That's why I got a bracket on the axle end and the rear end settled down nicely. The 80 has a 4" lift so the panhard rod was at a sharp angle, as compared to stock.

Nothing can fix the roll center of the rig unless the panhard rod is close to level. That's just pure physics I'm afraid.

stock bar is 40" center hole to center hole

Thank you sir! I shortened the Icon bar as much as possible and put it in the middle hole and the axle is still too far over left so when I flex and the rear left tire is in the wheel well my driveline rubs. So looks like I will be going back to the stock hole and adjusting my panhard based off 40" as I guess my 4R isn't lifted enough (3" Dobinsons high rate springs) to benefit using the bracket holes.

Jeeps which is why I would never run one on anything. Just my own personal opinion. I came over from the many years in the Jeep world and while they're a different animal stress is still stress.
