Wow man. Please don't tell the mattress and plywood and the 12' boards and especially the soft dry bag I use up there with the stock roof rack! They would all be disappointed to know they rode on a worthless rack...
Seriously I understand your point but for example I just spaced the big loads up a bit to clear my way cool vertical stabilizer they disguise as an antenna.

man if you ditch the fin your MPG will seriously suffer... only way to recover is a t4r.org sticker and a TRD intake

This one went sideways real fast and got funny as crap. You guys are awesome! Seriously though, you can't afford to lose 20hp and have tire rub so keep the fin and work around it. Sorry, just funnin, maybe not the best design for some things but easy enough to work around.

Ok I really like this rack...
Now some help, I do not have my truck yet, will be purchasing a TP in a few months...can you tell me the best website for all of the racks and accessories I see on all of these vehicles?

That's a fine rack. Very simple design. It's a good option to lots of full length racks for twice the price.
Now about the OP's question, it's a good one and worth an answer. Is the notch around the fin antennae required because of reception interference or just to physically, spacially miss it?
I mean, who uses Sirus xM radio anyway? For a monthly fee of what, $10, you can get radio reception from a satellite. Most urban dwellers don't need it and my favorite station, KPPC, NPR is mostly mono anyway. If you live in Siberia or the Aussie outback you might want it to get the best R&R. :drum:
We're forced to live with this fin antennae on the roof for something 95% of us will never use or pay for. So we have to notch the best roof racks to fit it.
I say a cut-off saw and some bondo are the solution. :focus:

Toyota probably gets kickbacks from XM.
Satellite radio used to be OK, but now they just play the same 100 songs on each channel, and they have ads on most of the channels. The whole point of paying for it in the first place was no ads. Now it's made obsolete by streaming music services.
I suspect each XM channel is powered by an iPod Shuffle, and each satellite is just a bunch of iPod Shuffles strapped together with some solar panels and a transmitter. That's why they can't change the playlist very often- it's expensive to send more stuff into orbit, and all the uplink bandwidth is already used to keep the ad content up to date. XM Headquarters:
What car makers don't know is that satellite radio works even if you mount the antenna underglass. On cars you can install it on the rear shelf, yet many cars have a shark fin that ruins the looks and aerodynamics. On hatchbacks and SUVs you could probably put it on the dash without much of an issue. The antenna only needs to be a little flat 1 square inch device, and they could put it under the dash plastic so you would never even see it.
Also, I don't know why FM antennas printed on the glass seem to have gone away. The 4th gens have it, but 5th gens don't. A whip antenna is unnecessary, and it does add a small amount of drag. Does anyone even use FM radio any more?
