Storage area help

I actually have two questions.

1) I'm planning to remove the cargo area trim panels this weekend to add sound deadening, run wires and add some mods. I already have the repair manual so I know the basics. However, any tips, tricks or gotchas from those that have already been there and done that would be appreciated.

2) Looking for ideas to store a 6' stainless steel whip antenna behind the headliner. I figure the biggest issue will be getting it past the side-to-side ribs and creating some sort of access cover that looks factory.

Well if I was planning on storing that antenna there I would get some 1/2" PVC tubing, cap one end and stuff it up there. Then you have an "antenna tunnel" of sorts.

But, that's just me.

That's what I've been thinking as well. Either that or a sleeve of ballistic nylon held in place at each end so it doesn't wander around. Then it's just a matter of figuring out some sort of access cover. Something like a smaller version of the jack access cover or like the overhead console sunglass holder, modified of course. I guesstimate the access needs to be 2-3" wide and 4-6" long.

I can tell you my rear-seat recliner sub-panels were really on there! They pull inward towards the center of the rear seats and will EVENTUALLY "pop" off. I struggled with mine for a few days as I was being extremely gentle with my 2-week old truck at the time (even posted here for help but got no replies). I actually had a Car Stereo Installer buddy remove them for me - but I can get them off myself now with a nice helping of elbow grease (seeing exactly how they attach helped IMO)...

Aside from that - be careful with the seat-back bolts! I cross-threaded one of mine during the 3-4 times I had the rear seats in and out, and had to buy a tap to clean it up.

I didn't bother deadening my roof, but now I'm kind of wishing I did (to reduce resonance for the subwoofers more than to quiet down the ride). Removing the headliner didn't look too fun, so I passed :) ...
