Strange clunk in 4wd

So I have noticed a strange clunk whenever I am in 4H non-locked center-diff. It only happens when in 4h when I take my foot off the gas and back on. Anyone else have this issue before? So far I have done front u-joints and I know its not the diff because it does it with my old and new diffs. Ideas guys? Im thinking its something in the transfer case but I'm hoping not.

My first thought was front driveshaft u-joint, but you say you did those (replaced them?).
So next thought would be the driveshaft slip joint, has it been greased recently?
Next would be to inspect everything else front axle related.

I believe the front drive shaft has been thoroughly greased. I repacked it when I did the u-joints and it was repacked once more when I had the front diff done again. I inspected all the bushings and they all look good. I have also done both cv joints this year. I packed the slip joint as much as I could and still squeeze it together for installation, so I assume that it's packed to the tits...any other ideas?

No I didn't. From what I understand they are not serviceable parts, correct me if I'm wrong?

Same thing happened on my buddy's 01. We thought for sure his front diff was toast. Ended up just being his driver side axle. Get an axle and swap it out to see if it still does it.

I've already done both front cv's and it was there before and after. Thanks though for the suggestion though. Wish it was just that, I'm beginning to think it may be the transfer case...

Mine (auto) has always had a bit a clunk when shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 , but its done it ever since I had the truck. I always thought it was just drivetrain slop. I don't think the previous owner ever greased the driveshaft, I should probably replace it.

I think you are right about the double cardan not being serviceable.
