thanks for the link but i cant un archive that because i have a Mac…i guess i will poke around tomorrow and see what happens when i unplug each of the plugs one by one

i just placed an order for a magnaflow muffler so if all else fails i will just drown it out with v8 exhaust note

Same annoying noise - by foot well driver side

I came to the forum to see if anyone had a fix for this. The noise does not happen all the time just from time to time and does a click click click click down by the footwell / fuse panel or something. No telling what it is - speedo cable? fuse? etc.

Compared to my 5 series though this vehicle is a gem at 108k miles

Mine was something in the lumbar I think. I disconnected it an I haven't heard the noise since

Also, for people with the same problem ckeck the skid plate, tighten any loose bolts. Also on the engine cover, that could rattle too. Heat shields, the panel below your knees, center console, it goes on and on.
