2000 limited w/ 131,xxx
I am having a hell of a time starting in the mornings and after work (4r has sat and cooled off). I turn the key and hear the click and all accessories worf (so not battery). I will pull key out and then try again... it will sputter and with a bit of gas revs and everything is good... but could take 4-10 times.
Drive out of lot/driveway and it i don't stop and try to gas it from into 2nd or 3rd, it feels like engine dies (RPMs drop and car slows). I give it more gas, the engine revs and then everything catches up... sometimes there is a backfire?/pop should that sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box. If i get stopped at a light or stop sign before I am able to get moving to have a shift, the RPMs are 1000-500 and the engine sounds like it is sputtering and there is some shaking. When I try to move, there is the same loss of power and i have to really give it some gas to get moving, then it revs and sometimes get the pop/backfire?
After I have this issue and power to 2nd or 3rd... everything runs fine
There is no Check engine light
Last year I had a similar issue that thew misfire code and did new plugs and wires and Mass airflow cleaning
Any ideas?
Only service I know I need to do is timing belt (i know 130k is pushing it)
