Strategy to keep my suspension stock-ish after adding bumpers?

you can pretty much use any lift kit with KDSS for the most part.

Where you run into problems are with shocks that have remote resi's, they will require a different mounting bracket for the remote reservoirs.

So as long as you are shopping for a standard spring and shock/coilover combo, you will be fine.

this needs to be put in it's own thread as a sticky lol.:shrug::bravo:

airlifts, but I don't remember the model number. Same one everyone else is running on this board.

This is all really helpful. I'm wondering, since I won't be hauling around a lot of heavy stuff in the back around most of the year, if OME 898s, airbags, and an adjustable setup in the front wouldn't be the way to go? Seems like that setup would allow me to adjust to the load I'm carrying, or not carrying.

I carry similar weight as what you want with a rear bumper. Start adding the weight first then plan suspension, if you get adjustable coilovers you just need a close estimate. The rear is cheap and easy to swap so you don’t need to be quite as exact back there.

Good to hear. Looking at your sig... what are you currently running in the back?

My Rear is the Toytec Superflex HEavy Duty springs with Boss shocks. I believe they are 20% stiffer than stock, wouldn’t want any stiffer for ride quality even with the bumper, sliders, skids, RTT, and loaded fridge etc in the back.

OKAY. Black Friday got the best of me and it looks like an SSO Hybrid Slim bumper is following my new LFD full rack.

I did some quick and dirty math and found that with these additions, I've added about 500 pounds and then lug another 300 pounds on my somewhat frequent trips.

So I would think 500 constant and 300 occasional pounds of extra weight would warrant some stiffer springs, no?

Yeah, stiffer springs to support the extra constant load and so that it doesn't feel soft and rolly on the roads.

Our black friday sale ends this coming friday. Look at the main page of www.dobinsonsdirect.com for the details.
