Strongest paint for roof rack

I have silver aluminum roof rack/basket and would like to paint it black to match my truck. What is the strongest paint to use on the roof rack/basket.

I know that I have to use primer as the first coat.

Might want to look into powdercoating if you want something really durable.

If powder coating (most durable) can't be matched for some reason, there are auto part stores that sell Automotive paint mixed to your exact factory color, in aerosol spray cans! Very easy to do yourself. Around here it is my local Parts Plus. Durable paint, same as factory quality I believe. I have used it on the front bumper if my Infiniti and so far after 2 1/2 years, no problem. Car washes, Rocks, Bugs etc.

The auto quality paint goes for around $16 per can.

A lot of guys use plasti-dip on their wheels which definitely take a beating. I would suggest trying that.

I think Appliance paint is spray epoxy. I was on a car forum, guys were spraying parts with it. Wish it came in the right color for me.

That is a great idea. I never thought of epoxy paint. Thank you. You guys all have great ideas.
